Arouses positive and negative feelings. It’s invasive garlic mustard. I try to spot treat as much as possible in the fall and early spring but a lot is biding it’s time under the leaves. Most leaves break down fairly quickly but not oak leaves. Googled it: “because of their waxy surfaces and high lignin”.
I go after garlic mustard in my own yard as well. One of the powers of a camera is that it places a halter on the mind. When I saw that single leaf, I didn’t see a garlic mustard plant, even though I can always spot them. Instead I saw the perennial truth that new growth comes from old and the earth colors of it all.
Thanks for visiting. I enjoyed our conversation very much.
